Fund the research that fights back.

Black households hold thirteen cents of wealth for every dollar white households hold. Buy-now-pay-later platforms targeted at low-income consumers grew five-fold in five years. Personal-finance curricula reach over thirty million students each year on assumptions rarely tested in the populations they're taught to. The Institute of FAME conducts and funds the peer-reviewed research and psychometric instruments that the regulators, educators, and advocates working on these problems can rely on. Your gift funds the research and its translation — into the policy briefs and comments that move the rules, and the financial education that puts the findings in people's hands.

The Institute of FAME, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 81-4374785). Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Levels are anchored to real research costs. A behavioral-measurement study runs $3,500–$5,500 end-to-end; mid-size grant programs run $20,000–$50,000.

Monthly gifts are the backbone of independent research — they let us fund the slow, peer-reviewed work that protects consumers long after a single grant cycle ends.

Founders Circle $25 a month funds the science that fights back — the recurring backbone of slow, peer-reviewed consumer-financial-protection research.

Online giving is being set up this week.

The institute's bank account at Mercury and its Stripe payment processor are completing final activation; online donations — one-time and monthly — go live within a few business days. In the meantime, gifts by check, donor-advised-fund recommendation, or qualified charitable distribution from a retirement account are tax-deductible immediately — see giving methods below, or email donate@institutefame.org.

Reserve your founding-member spot.

Drop your email and we'll send the giving link the moment online donations activate this month. The first 100 Founders Circle members receive opt-in name + recognition on the Founders Wall.

We use your email only to invite you to give once online donations are live and, if you join the Founders Circle, to send the monthly behind-the-scenes update. No advertising, no list-sharing. Unsubscribe anytime.

Founders Circle

$25 a month funds the science that fights back.

Predatory financial actors use behavioral science to engineer products that exploit consumers who don't have the sophistication the system assumes they do. The Institute of FAME, Inc. funds the peer-reviewed research that documents what they're doing — and translates it into the policy briefs and regulatory comments that move the rules. Recurring monthly support is what makes that slow, expensive, un-glamorous work fundable at scale.

Founders Circle members receive a quarterly Q&A with the Chair, early access to policy briefs one week before public release, name and recognition on the Founders Wall (opt-in), and a monthly behind-the-scenes update on the institute's research, policy, and operational work.
